Membership
Being a member of a local church is a Christian saying, “I’m committed to Christ and these Christians and will be shepherded by these Elders."
Every Christian is called to belong meaningfully to a local church. Membership is a commitment to mutual care, accountability, and discipleship in Christ. CCBC seeks to know, disciple, and shepherd one another faithfully. When needed, we practice loving correction, including church discipline, that aims to restore believers to joyful fellowship. Membership Process
Step 1: Attend Our Gatherings
Attend our Sunday morning and evening services. These are foundational for worship and knowing the members of the church.
Step 2: Membership Class
CCBC offers a four-part membership class that answers questions about our Church’s beliefs, leadership, culture, and commitments. Class is required for membership but open to anyone interested in learning more about CCBC. Classes 1-4 are split into two sessions and offered every other month.

Step 3: Membership Application & Interview
Once you have completed all classes, and you desire to continue pursuing membership and meet the membership qualifications, you will be asked to complete a membership application and schedule an interview. Don’t be intimidated! This is simply a time for the Elders to hear your story personally and answer any questions you have about the church.
Step 4: Finalizing Membership & Next Steps
During the membership interview, Elders will help guide you through the next steps to joining. For some, it may be waiting and learning more about continued discipleship or baptism. For others, it may be signing the Church Covenant and Statement of Faith and being recommended to the congregation for their vote of affirmation into membership. Either way, we will be here to walk you through each step.

Qualifications for Membership
To qualify for membership in this church, a person must:
- Be a believer in Jesus Christ who gives evidence of regeneration;
- Have been baptized as a believer in obedience to Christ in connection with the preaching of the Biblical gospel by a gospel believing church; and
- Wholeheartedly believe in the Christian faith as revealed in the Bible.
Each member must agree to submit to the teaching of scripture as expressed in the Statement of Faith, by believing and teaching in accordance with the Statement of Faith and not contrary to it, holding the doctrines of our church with a clear conscience before God and man.
Membership Expectations
I hope to come to you soon, but I am writing these things to you so that, if I delay, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, a pillar and buttress of the truth.
- Be constant in your attendance both on Sunday mornings and Sunday evenings.
- Pray for our church daily.
- Give proportionally and cheerfully.
- Make it a priority of being present and prepared to partake of the Lord’s Supper with us each month.
- Do your best to be present for our Members Meetings that take place six times a year.
- Serve the members of the church.
