What to Expect in a Worship Service
Service
Our Sunday morning service typically last about two hours. All parts of the service are selected deliberately to help point the congregation to God and emphasize the preached Word.
Prayers, Scripture Reading, and Confessions
Each service includes various prayers —confession, praise & thanksgiving, and pastoral intercession. We pray for needs within our church and beyond, recognizing God’s kingdom expands far beyond CCBC. We also read publicly from the Old and New Testament and recite different creeds and confessions.
Sermons
We are devoted to expositional preaching, meaning that the main point of the biblical passage is the main point of the sermon. The majority of CCBC’s preaching walks through whole books of the Bible. We invite members and guests to meditate ahead of time on the scripture being preached. The upcoming passage is posted weekly on our social media page.
Music
Our music includes singing of Christ-exalting songs with joy and reverence. We sing a mix of old and new hymns and songs that are led by a small group of musicians and vocalists who encourage wholehearted congregational singing.
Baptism & the Lord’s Supper
We observe baptism as the Lord brings new members into our congregation. Baptisms are typically at the end of our morning service. The Lord’s Supper is observed once a month, typically during the first evening service of the month. All visitors, who are baptized as believers and members in good standing of another gospel-preaching church, are welcome to partake of the Lord’s Supper.
Attire
At CCBC on Sunday mornings, most people will be dressed in “business” or “smart casual” attire. Evening services are more relaxed. Our church believes modesty is important and that members should seek to honor the Lord and love one another in how they dress.
Fellowship
We would love for you to stay after the service so we can personally welcome you.
Info for Families

Families are welcome to have children worship with them in the service or utilize childcare.
Children of all ages are welcome in our Sunday morning and Sunday evening services. Children’s Worship Guides are available to help children participate in the service. A Mother’s Nursing Room with a live video feed of the service is available for those caring for infants.
Families are also welcome to utilize Childcare (newborn through age 4). Visitors will be asked to register their children at the Check-In Desk in the Childcare Wing. Childcare is available for all Sunday services starting 15 minutes prior to the service.
